Bodh Gaya is an important Buddhist Pilgrimage center. It is here, sitting under a Banyan (Bodhi) tree around 2500 years ago, that Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment.

By Rail: Gaya Railway Station (13 km) is an important junction in North Eastern railway network and many super fast trains including the Rajdhani Express running between Delhi & Kolkata stop here.
By Road: NH 2 (Delhi - Mathura - Agra - Kanpur - Allahabad - Varanasi - Mohania - Baidyabati - Bara - Kolkatta) is the National Highway passing near Bodh Gaya and NH 83 (Patna - Jahanabad - Gaya - Bodhgaya - Dhobi) passes through Bodh Gaya.
Bodh Gaya is very well connected with Gaya and via Gaya, to other towns and cities of Bihar and neighboring States. There are daily bus services to Gaya, Patna, Nalanda, Rajgir and Varanasi.
