Airlines to hike fares

All of you who are planning a trip with your family this summer, make sure you are ready to spend a little more than what you had budgeted. Airlines, who are hit hard by hike in price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) are hiking the ticket fares. But the good news is that the hike will be only for longer routes. And before you start frowning, spare some thought for all the airline operators who are burdened by high fuel prices not only because of increase in the price of crude but also due to very high taxes on ATF - up to 25% in most states. So the only way to control the fare hike will be if state governments offer to cut the taxes, something that may not happen soon.
